How much does a boiler service cost in Ireland?

A standard gas boiler service costs between €80 and €150 in Ireland in 2026, with most people paying around €110. An oil boiler service costs €90 to €160. Expect the higher end of those ranges in Dublin and the lower end across Munster and Connacht.

What's included in a boiler service?

A proper service is not just a once-over. The engineer inspects the boiler and flue, checks ventilation and gas pressure, tests the safety controls, cleans the internal components they can reach, runs a flue gas analysis to measure efficiency, and checks for gas leaks and carbon monoxide. It normally takes about an hour.

What costs extra?

Repairs and replacement parts are priced separately, so if the service turns up a worn part you'll get a price for that on top. Emergency call-outs also cost more than a booked service. If your boiler is under warranty, check it: most warranties require an annual service to stay valid, so skipping a year can cost far more than the service.

Who can service a boiler in Ireland?

For gas, it must legally be a Registered Gas Installer (RGI). For oil, look for an OFTEC-registered engineer.
