Who we are

SkillTrade Platform operates skilltrade.ie, which connects people who need work done with local tradespeople in Ireland. For data protection law we are the data controller. Contact us at info@skilltrade.ie.

What we collect

If you post a job: your name, phone number, email address, the location of the job, what you need done, any photos you attach, and how you want to be contacted.

If you register as a tradesperson or business: your business and contact details, the trades and areas you cover, and, if you apply to be verified, identity and insurance documents.

We also keep records of activity on the platform, such as jobs claimed and reviews left.

How we use it

To match your job with suitable local tradespeople, to let those tradespeople contact you about it, to run accounts and subscriptions, to check content for abuse, and to send service emails such as your job link or a review invitation.

Our legal bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running a safe platform, and your consent where you have given it.

Who we share it with

When you post a job, tradespeople see the job details and the general area. Your name and contact details go only to the limited number of tradespeople you allow to claim the job.

We use service providers to run the platform: hosting and database services, email delivery, mapping and address lookup, and an AI service that screens posts and reviews for abusive content. They process data on our instructions only.

We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

Job records and reviews are kept while the platform operates, so ratings stay meaningful. Verification documents are kept while an account is active and deleted when it closes. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Email info@skilltrade.ie and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
